We are currently searching for an experienced PHP developer with a high level of technical skill. The candidate must be able to use PHP 4 and 5, MySQL and develop content management systems along with E-Commerce applications. Experience in using payment gateways or being able to integrate systems from Protx, Paypal and Google checkout is essential.
As a developer you will also require being able to use the latest technologies to help user experience from AJAX to jQuery or Javascript libraries. You will be responsible for creating applications where the focus is on user interaction design. Any experience or skills in layout design would be an added advantage but not essential as you will be working with designers on projects to deliver the highest quality finish.
You will work on project both as an individual and as part of a larger team. We are a small company and the position would ideally suit a pro active individual with the ability to create new ideas and keep their knowledge of the industry up to scratch.
You must be able to code in Object Orientated programming and have an awareness of Mod Rewrite or clean URL generation along with consideration of Search Engine Optimisation when building your applications. A knowledge of various products on the market from Expression engine and wordpress to using Google APIs and Yahoo developer tools and their suitability in certain projects would be of added advantage.
When not working on client projects you will be expected to take a lead role in helping develop off the shelf products such as Content Management Systems.
Although not essential any knowledge of other programming languages, developing at an enterprise level, scalability issues and various frameworks such as Ruby on rails, PHP cake and code ignitor would also be desirable.
